I'm just me!
My name is Darren (Daz for short) but generally use the online tag of ProgramIT.
I live in coutry South Australia and have been deeply interested in computers and technology since adam was a computer, and the TRS-80 was the beast of choice - model 1 4K powerhouse!
I'm showing my age.
I used to be an avid home programmer and my language of choice was BASIC. (Yes I know its not a real language in many people eyes but for what I was interested and involved in it was more than adequate. I've evolved in more modern times to C#, VB.Net, and the Net Framework for Windows development, and am just starting to get into Java, HTML, and associated web languages for online development.
My primary field of choice is business software and services, and am more interested in the small to medium enterprises. Bookkeeping, payroll, mathematical, database, ecommerce, CRM, etc etc etc. One of my main projects at the moment is the beginnings of a Business Management Software package that I hope will be more than just a basic bookkeeping package.
I do like to play around with a bit of graphics and animation but thats more for fun.
I am also just learning about online services and set-ups. I recently got myself a suitable VPS and plan to try out a few websites for various people and organisations. Also I hope it will be handy for some of the software I am trying.
Time is the problem at the moment because I need to work a regular job to keep myself and family fed so unfortunately programming and web development is restricted to free time hobby status. I HOPE that can change.
Much of what I do is basically Open Source, as I do believe in open access to code etc. I haven't decided which licence I will go under yet for some items but I will be sure to have them adequately displayed once I start setting up some of my projects.
