Welcome to OziDev

This is the beginning of the new website for the OziDev.com
This site will be used to allow information to be published ranging from general programing ideas through to code snippets and full application development ideas and development.

We have a number of projects currently under development, in various stages ranging from ideas, through to code creation. These will change immensely over time, and this site will document the changes.

Also there will be some information documented on programming and technology development as new ideas, and technologies are utilized into the various projects.

Initially though the primary focus is on the setup and install of the main server and network.

Information and Tutorials

At the current stage I'm focussing most of my spare time on setting up a decent development and network environment at my home office. This includes such things as a dedicated server, numerous windows and linux machines. You can read more about my initial plans for this home network here and as I progress through the various stages of setup I hope to document the procedures in my own basic lingo!

The primary aim is I am trying to learn Linux, as I have always been appreciative of its power and versatility, but like many, have been scared off by the endless geek talk and command line secrets that seem to accompany it.

Besides a previous token knowledge of linux I have had very little to do with it on the technical or admin side. I've used numerous desktop versions of linux from Ubuntu to Knoppix and even ran Knopix on one of my work laptops for quite some time. Now is the time to get serious as storage and network requirements become greater for many home and office setups, I believe (hope) that I can utilise modern linux with windows to create a relatively powerful, versatile and useablle home network that will fulfill numerous requirements.

You can check out the various tutorials at the Linux Tutorials and Information section!
